It’s the only explanation for my poor grades during the second semester of freshman year, but I don’t know if it’s a good idea to mention something that’s affiliated with mental disorder. Any ideas?

If your grades show an upward trend, they could just as easily be attributed to immaturity… why mention the OCD?
I probably wouldn’t bring it up – and I don’t understand why why it hurt the second semester freshman grades and not the first semester grades.
Let your guidance counselor explain in your recommendation/report, if necessary. If there is an upward trend in grades, don’t worry about it. Some schools pretty much ignore your freshman year grades
