Is it a bad idea to submit an in-class essay as an example essay? One of my schools asks for a graded example of expository prose. My teacher rarely assigns take-home essays, and it just so happens that I can't find the only one we received back.

We do, however, do tons of in-class essays, and I usually get pretty decent grades on it (A+ or A). Do you think it would be disadvantageous to send in this kind of essay?

Yeah I think that would be appropriate, and with it being in-class, doesn’t that also show how well you are able to write within a limited time-frame or some sort of nice thing like that?

I’d say it’s fine as long as you make it clear that it’s an in-class essays (which means that it’s a first draft). You certainly don’t want them to think that you rush through traditional, final drafts.
