<p>well.. i am not sure being an URM gives you an advantage. I certainly hope that schools do not use race as a proxy for socio economic background but if they do, you are probably in at most of them.</p>

<p>I’d say you’d probably get into Duke, just because I know so many people who did, and some of them had about your stats with average EC. Duke’s admission rate is super high for a top tier school.</p>

<p>Nothing about what you wrote really strikes me though. Maybe that’s just because you didn’t elaborate on your EC. Personally, my EC sucks, so I like to focus on EC when looking at people’s resumes. But heck, what do any of us know about admission chances? We’re not on these school’s adcom. I think forums like these are more fun than useful. Your guess is as good as anyone’s.</p>

<p>well, my thoughts, are exactly. and I am NOT relying on the URM hook, because i know how competitive these colleges are. scary even.</p>

<p>my EC’s are truly average compared to other EC’s, but much better that 90% of the people at my school, but if it is an extremely important aspect, i’ll elaborate.</p>

<p>but i do appreciate the comments and the chances…its a crapshoot specially for colleges like HYP…</p>

<p>I’m gonna say flat out that you will get into more than you are expecting just because of being hispanic… so keeping that in mind, Harvard is a crapshoot for anyone of any race really, same with Yale. The rest you should be fine in to be honest.</p>
