Is it a good decision to repeat IB 1?

Hi, I’m in IB 2 and I just got over with my IB 1 exams but I have been doing pretty bad in most of the subjects and I wish to repeat a year. I don’t know whether it’s a good decision or not because repeating a year would mean I should drop all the college preparations I have been doing and not doing well in IB would affect my career choices that I make.

I don’t know if I should bring this up with my parents or not, pls someone suggest the pros and cons of repeating a year.

What about talking to a teacher or GC first: get some ‘expert’ input as to why your exam results were disappointing. Are the reasons likely to change? are they remedial? how far off your expected results were your marks, and is that a gap that can be made up (or made up to an level that leaves you with options that you are happy/happy enough with)?

Are you in the US? is your school IB-only? Are there choices besides repeating?

Those questions aren’t for us here on CC- they are for you to address with your teachers (and ultimately, your parents),
