Is it a Good Idea to take Organic Chemistry I and Anatomy/Physiology Together?

In one semester, taking O Chem I w/ lab and Anatomy/Physiology w/ lab? This is what I was thinking of doing my second semester of sophomore year probably with one other history class or something. Last semester I got a B - in Gen Chem I which was really bad it dropped my GPA so I am hoping to boost it up will this be leading me to failure?

Thanks

i dont know what you been taking, but B- is pretty good considered its better than a C+, i only had a B in the gen chem, after retaking it at my college. Are anatomy and physiology 1 class? Its doable but, chemistry will take most of your studying time away though. What are your other classes? and its either your anatomy will suffer a lower grade, and your org chem is good grade, it could be both bad grades. I have to retake 2 chemistry courses org chem 1/w lab and gen chem 2/w lab back to back, and org chem took most of my time away, which i got a B and my gen chem got a low C(from my guess of the final points)

How long is a piece of string?

There is no way anyone else can answer this question for you. Some people would have no problem with taking these courses concurrently, other people might find it difficult. Different professors at different schools may teach the courses differently, some may be harder and others easier. Only you know your own abilities and whether or not you can handle these courses at your particular school.

Organic chemistry is an entirely different beast from general chem. Some people find organic easier than general chem since it tends to be less quantitative and more conceptual.

if professors are easier at your college, than you may have leeway on both courses. if not, then you will find out that its going to take alot even to get a C in the course, its alot of studying, studying elimination, substituitions, etc. iF YOU are able to get quizzes,hw, tests from previous semesters, you will know the difficulty of the teacher.

ochem can be a tough class. It will be very heavy on mechanisms which will be hours of study time. If you don’t have a job it will be more doable, but beware and I suggesting taking a teacher with less work. too much work may drown you.

if the teachers are easier, you wont learn anything at all. The hard ones are always the best teachers. Even if you dont have a job, O-Chem is tough no matter what, i have never seen anyone said it was easy and has passed. Using “work/job” as an excuse for not doing well college has been used to death. i just dont buy that, its under the assumption that when a person takes a course, if its hard they should know that, and drop, or attempt to pass it.

It’s pretty tough to do and it was exactly what I did and I was able to get As in both of the classes. I would not recommend it. It is also different at every school. However, I have some very helpful youtube videos on my channel that may help you in the future with those classes!
