So I took a summer course at the University of Chicago on American law (mainly because it was local and I didn't have to travel very far). I'm thinking about explaining how that course sparked my interest in law for the Harvard supplemental essay, but I'm having second thoughts because of the fact that I'll have to mention UChicago (only once, but still). Will that be a detriment?

bump, will appreciate opinions

With the country’s highest yield, Harvard doesn’t mind if applicants have gone to other universities’ summer programs.

My son went to summer school at Columbia because that was convenient for us and it offered something he was interested in. It was mentioned in his essay and it didn’t stop Harvard from accepting him. There are all sorts of perfectly good reasons to choose other summer programs, and Harvard really doesn’t need you to show the love.
