Is it a good idea to write a few of your essays on the same subject?

So, I'm really passionate about my music production (I think I said this in at least 10% of my posts on CC). And I want to write my essays on it. There's the obvious Stanford/Princeton/everything else "describe and EC and how it affects you prompt." That I will definitely do on music. But there's a Common App prompt that caught my eye.

"Discuss an accompishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family."

For this, I want to write about my first song I've written. It's definitely a moment where I realized my direction in life, that it all wasn't pointless (I'll be more introspective on the real essay I promise). But I feel like it might have too much overlap with the EC one. I don't want to see like a one-dimensional person who's only interest in life is music. But at the same time, I feel like I can write really good essays for both.

What should I do? Find a different event to write on or change the prompt, or go for it and write both on music?

if you think ur application would be incomplete without this another essay on music then write about it but youd better submit some supplement along with ur application, something that reflects other dimensions of you. and vice versa, you could write about another event and instead attach this essay as your supplement.
im applying this year and also want to major in music. so good luck for both of us.:)

Actually I’m not majoring in music. I’m applying SCEA to Stanford (declaring Computer Science), and I think that music is definitely my greatest EC, something that I’ll bring to their school.

Anyways, I changed topic. I felt like it would have too much overlap in the end. And Stanford has like 4 other essays where you explain yourself, so I think that’s enough.
