Is it a good sign when...?

So basically, my boyfriend got the grades request thing in the mail from USC last week. He didn't do so well in high school (2.59 cummulative/1230 SAT), but has showed a steady upward trend ever since.

He didn't really find himself until college.

He is at Cal Poly Pomona now, and has about a 3.7 cummulative, and is most likely going to have a 4.0 after this quarter (most of his classes have been upper division as well). He is a philosophy major

He wants more than anything to transfer, and I want more than anything for him to be optimistic about something.

So was this letter a good sign? Is it any indication that they are leaning towards an acceptance? And how guaranteed is an acceptance if he gets straight As this quarter?

Of course, all in your opinion

He is a sophomore right now. He is transfering in as a third year student

well, they dnt typically dnt send grade requests for juniors, so he is probably a borderline applicant. If he gets straight A's, then no doubt he will get in or else they wouldnt have sent a spring grades request. they normally send them for soph applicants cuz they need a longer track record to assess, but for a jr, it means they r borderline. so hopefully he has good grades for the spring

uscwannabe, what do you think is behind my spring grade request. this semester i had a bunch of classes that were required for my major, (math and 2 economic classes). my past grades have been solid, so do you think the request was to check up on the math and econ? if those grades are on par with my past grades, do you think im definately in?

they are just taking so damn long its making me worried. almost like im on a waitlist except they aren't telling me; keeping me around just to fill in empty slots if they arrise.

he's worried because Cal Poly does not process his grades until mid-June

if ur a jr. guitarshark, i would imagine that you are a borderline applicant because you received a grades request. If you have good grades this spring, Im sure u will be in. I know USC is big on fulfilling their GE's, so perhaps they are waiting for you to complete them with reasonable performance. when did u send in ur grades man?

sent em in on the 27th of last month. im hoping i hear something by this friday
