Is it a must to take AP classes in HS to get into HKUST?

im a junior and regret not taking AP classes but im going to get into AP english and history senior year. I really want to get into HKUST but im afraid since I hadnt and arent in any AP classes currently I wont even be suggested as an applicant! Help please! im still not sure what specific school I want to get into HKUST. But probably not buisiness. Do they care a lot about extracurriculars? Im not in any sports or clubs either so im at a disadvantage. Since im in my junior year of HS I feel its too late. What can I do now? Its my dream school. I messed up my freshman year not because I was a bad student but personal reasons. So currently as a junior I have biology and chemistry Senior year I will be taking algebra 1 and History 1 (freshman classes) although it is only one semester. Please help! What can I do? After high school I will be taking one or two years of community college and hope I can transfer.

It does take you apart from those who don’t, so unofficially, yes.

And…why do you take Algebra 1 during Senior year?

Messed up my freshman year so I have to catch up on my credits but I will also be taking pre calc that year

It’s not a must to take AP classes despite they would definitely prefer rigorous classes. You just have to take AP exams, not classes.

Thank you:)
