Is it alright to send midyear reports to schools that don't request them?

I've had a great 1st semester with the hardest courseload I've ever taken in HS, and I'd like my colleges to see my progress. Is it okay to send it to schools that never requested them from me?

If there’s a significant increase in grades, then yes. Or if you’re deferred.

Well, last year I had a 3.8 with 2 APs and a college English class, and now I have a 3.8 (projected0 I believe with 3 AP classes and 1 honors class. Considering my freshman year was a 3.4 and my sophomore year was a 3.6, I feel showing my senior year grades would help.

In your case I don’t think it would matter THAT much. But do it anyway; it shows that you’re still working hard and not slacking off.

Of course. Send anything that’s a positive. Why wouldn’t you. They might notice, might not…but you’d always wonder if you didn’t. My D has an upward trend in grades back to where they SHOULD have been the whole time. She’s at 3.9 (4.9W) and you can BETCHA she sent this to all her schools, even those that didn’t ask for it. Not only admissions but scholarships are still in question at some schools.

Thanks; I think I will send them. :)
