Is It An Honor?

There's no way a shirt that cost $150. ~____~;

I just made that up. But belive me there is some shop that has that price or at least close to it.

Abercrombie charges 50.00 dollars for there polos. THATS ABSURD

-.- Not unless you are bargaining on ebay.

Actually..I am sure you could find shirts that could cost $150 and up. Some designer clothing would probably go way above that price.

Jon K...you sound really condescending there

How did I sound condescending?

You just sounded like you were above shopping at Wal Mart. Saying that you've barely been in there and you didnt know they had clothes. A bit reminiscent of Paris Hilton on The Simple Life: "Wal Mart? Do they sell like...wall stuff?"

Erm. I don't like Wal-Mart either...? Nothing wrong with that.

As for the "preppy" (AE/AF/Whatever) clothing... personally, I like the style. Then again, I dig Gap and Old Navy, too. Classifying someone based on what they wear isn't really a good idea. If you were to catch me on different days, you could see me as either some ultra-liberal hippie or some brain-washed AE clone. :)

And no, it's not an honor unless you really are brain-washed. And a little dense.

Well I guess I wouldn't wear anything from Wal Mart. It's just because I don't like what they have. I just went to their website. Their electronics are cheap.

Yes, that's fine. But for some people, that's what they can afford.

That's cool.

What is the 'honor' in being a 'prep' you ask? What benefits can one derive from wearing expensive clothing, popping one's color, and attempting to establish an allure of unearned wealth with a combination of classy outfits, highly styled nonchalance, and witty quips about shopping for clothes (of all things!) at such trashy establishments as WalMart? Well, let me let you in on an amazingly secret secret-- one to make the mystery of the Da Vinci Code look as obvious as the question of OJ's guilt. For those complete and absolute in their devotion to the 'preppy life', those who not only wear the brands with an easy air of belonging, but also embody all aspects of your ideal 'Prep UberMensch' -- from the yacht, to the amazing golf and polo skills (unpracticed of course!), to the summering on 'the vineyard' (never dare adding the name Martha!), well for such truly committed to the 'prep' life, on graduation day, right as you are walking back from throwing your hats at [insert new England prep school here] the reincarnated image of JFK Jr. will appear before you. “Come [your name here], you have proven yourself a true prep among preps!” he will beckon. At first you will be confused, but soon you will break down crying in rapture, for you are being invited into the world of prepdom – an alternate universe of sophistication and style, parties at the Hamptons, that will last you the rest of your years. That is until you die in a skiing or yachting accident or something. That, my friends, is the ultimate benefit of being a ‘prep’.

Sounds good to me. :)

I better meet some wealthy friends at Andover and summer with them on "The Vineyard." haha

I was reading someone's journal on the Andover site and her friend to her and a few others to Jamaica for spring break. How awesome would that be?! lol.

I loved Andover. It's 15 minutes from my house. But i like my school a lot and I'm glad im here

Do you go to Andover?

Or are you talking about the public school you go to?

Umm im talking about the prep school. And no i dont go there..i got waitlisted. I love the school i go to though.

Sweet deal im a senior member haha

Congratulations.

What were the things you liked and disliked about andover? Did you visit any other schools? What were your opinions on them?

I liked Andover because it has amazing academics and there is a lot of freedom there. There's no uniform and that was a strong point also. I loved the campus and the food seemed really good. Also it's local and It's like 25 minutes from Boston. Boston=great. I didn't really have that many dislikes about Andover. I visited Brooks School which is right near Phillips Andover. It was good.

Thats sad...truly sad! Some people have no concept of what the "real world" is. Yes, Wal-Mart has some great clothing for a cheap price. JC Penny is very affordable and has nice selection as well.

Recently, Wal-Mart corporation has reinvented their clothing selections to meet the standards of the "modern world"
