Is it awkward to ask the same teacher for recommendations to several summer programs?

I'm applying to a bunch of programs for next summer and 3 of them need teacher recommendations. There's this one teacher who I really want to write a recommendation for all 3 programs, but I feel like she would get really annoyed by the fact that she has to fill 3 different forms out.
What do you think? Has anyone done this before? Please let me know how it went and how you approached the teacher with your request.
Thanks a lot :)

bumppp same question

YES. It’s so awkward. I had to ask my school’s magnet coordinator for 3 applications within a month of each other and I could see the frustration on her face. However, if your teacher knows that you’re asking her because you think she’s the best to do it, she should understand. Just ask politely and maybe (at the end of the year or after you know the results) give a gift of appreciation. I know I’m giving the MC a big pile of cookies.

Man that really sucks. Maybe I’ll ask her for 2 instead of 3? :stuck_out_tongue:
I wish the admissions people for these programs would understand that most kids apply to more than one program. They should have like a Common Application for Summer Programs or something :)

don’t worry about it, I had to do the same thing this last winter
she basically writes the same thing over and over, so it’s better to ask the same person more than once because she already has something written for the “additional comments” portion rather than making more than one teacher write a letter when it’s not necessary
but it is a good idea to send a thank you note/small gift
