Is it bad if I drop a sport junior year?

I have played jv water polo for two years. I am now going to be a junior and am pretty sure I will not make varsity, as there are only 2 more spots on varsity, I know I don’t want to play my senior year and am thinking about dropping it this year as well bc the players on my team are into drinking and recreational drugs( not too serious to affect school life, but enough for peer pressure, and simply being bad influences). I could stick it out and do it junior year, so I can say I did Wopo 3 years, but If it is ok to drop it now, I’d reay like to pursue crossfit and competitive rock climbing. Neither of which I have experience in.

The thing that’s really bad is choosing activities because of college applications.

Do what you enjoy. The college you attend matters a lot less than how well you do there-nobody cares about undergraduate education when they’re hiring, except for a small number of law/finance positions. It’s graduate school that matters, and at that level colleges prefer an A student from (insert state uni here) over a C student from Harvard.
