I'm applying to Tisch and i have a lot of writing pieces from reviews to narratives and i was wondering if it is bad to send all of them in the mail to Tisch. I'm applying for Cinema studies and i have a 5-10 page essay on a director, then i also have a film analysis on a 2010 film. I also have written short dramatic pieces. I am not sure wether it is a good idea or not to include all of these because some of them seem to apply to Film Production so i was not sure wether to just apply there or Cinema Studies...i wish i can apply for both ergh. Can anyone give me some insight on this issue? Thanks.

Bump. Does anyone know? I can’t call NYU since i live on the westcoast and the times never work out.

I’m not exactly “fit” to tell you what is right and wrong as a Stern student. I would, however, advise that you only include pieces that really captivate your personality or your expertise in the field you are planning on studying.

In this case, place yourself in the shoes of the admissions counselor who will be reading your application. Do you think he or she would prefer to read all of your work? Or just a few pieces that really define you? If all your pieces are truly excellent, you’re proud of, and you think is NECESSARY, then by all means, send them all in.

I personally think being concise is the way to go, but I can only give you so much advice as a Stern student, as I’ve previously mentioned.

Best of luck!
