how about you note down the questions and ask them later during office hours...one or two questions are fine, but incessant questioning gets annoying

imran- Uh if you go to somewhat large university, i'm sure you can find somebody that shares your interest especially if your 'year' equals your whole high school population (that's how it's with me.. i had 2000 people in my high school and i have around 16,000 people in my university)

You need to be more social. Most jobs require some type of communication and/or teamwork, so I'd practice that even if you don't like it b/c you'll need it.

Is it bad to be smart, intelligent, and determined? Is it bad to carry an air of elegant disposition?

I'm none of the above. What do you think my answer would be? :D

I understand where you are coming from. But, do you think this is a result of your ego rather than your superior intellect? What school do you go to? Maybe you're not at the right school, or something, because you should be able to find at least a few other students who enjoy studying as much as you do and can actually hold an intelligent conversation.

Good luck.

Oh btw, Chaos, smart and intelligent mean pretty much the same thing for all practical purposes...

I find it hard to believe that anyone couldn't find another frosh on the same "intellectual wavelength" as they are in college. If that's the case, it would get rather lonely and, as bendrumfront said, it might not be the right school for you.

For the record, the best way to engage with fellow nerds is to show up for events for one of the clubs that interest you. That simple. For example, I run "telescope night" for the physics and astronomy club on campus, and I utterly love it because it's the best way to meet other people who like to do random starstuffs. :)

And for the record, of course there's nothing wrong with being a nerd! I only date nerds personally, and for good reason... :D

yeah problem with that though stargirl is i end up meeting people who are much older than me, which doens't seem right to me, especially since I'm a year younger than everyone else in my class. so i dunno...
