Would it be bad to leave the foreign language requirement in the IGETC for the spring prior to admission? I know the UCs see math or english GEs in the spring as a red flag, but is this the same for the other requirements (more specifically the foreign language one)?

Thanks in advance.

No. At my school the fairly recently there was a Berkeley rep. I asked her the same thing. And was told it wouldn’t be an issue.

It depends, for the IGETC you can use your 2 years of a high school foreign language .

It doesn’t automatically look bad, but if you don’t have a good background in whatever language your taking , and you put yourself in a situation where if you don’t pass that class in spring your application will get rescinded , then your talking about a very stressful situation .

I got lucky( in retrospect , i didn’t since going to UCR is my biggest regret thus far ) since UCR still let me in even though I screwed up French my last semester .
I suggest you look into taking your language during the winter if possible . This way if *( I actually typed *) happens and you fall behind you can still try again during the spring .
