is it bad to take a class pass/fail?

at my school, one can take his social science electives pass/fail. SWEET Then, it occurred to me, maybe this will look bad on my transcript for grad school, scholarships, REUs, or other stuff like that.

Unless it’s a class relevant to the subject you want to go to grad school in, it shouldn’t be a problem. Some classes are not worth the time or energy they would take away from the classes you actually care about, and it’s better for your sanity and your grades in your major classes to take those pass/fail.

If you’re taking a class pass/fail every semester, that might be a problem. But once or twice should be fine.
