Is it beneficial to join phi theta kappa? Would it look good for the future?

One benefit of PTK is that you automatically qualify for a number of transfer scholarships. You can read through the website to learn more about the organization [Phi Theta Kappa - Honor Society](http://www.ptk.org/)

Yeah the scholarships is the only reason. It really seems shady to me. Don’t get me wrong I joined but it just seems dumb. I had to pay 100 bucks to join some club for people with 3.5+ gpas. Why can’t the transfer schools just see I have a 3.5+ gpa when I apply? I dunno. A couple of my transfer options give scholarships for PTK. It just seems like an unnecessary expense.

The requirements to join this honor society is 12 credits and 3.5 GPA. But i’ve read that you couldn’t haven taken remedial courses. Let’s say I qualify for everything, but took ONE remedial course, do I get disqualified?
