Is it better to apply as an 'undeclared' or with a major?

<p>So i kind of screwed up in my first sem. junior year. </p>

<p>French 4: A-
AP Bio: B
APUSH: B
Pre cal H : C
Exp. art: A
English 3H : B</p>

<p>I want to go to UC Davis. Although my grades aren’t that ‘great’ as compared to others (my UC grade should be a 3.7-3.8) i want to have a way to boost my chances at uc davis.</p>

<p>I heard that it’s better to apply to college w. a undeclared major… i heard that it gives you a better chance of being accepted?</p>

<p>I’m confused.</p>

<p>Which is it? Is it better to apply undeclared, or with a certain major.</p>

<p>If i was to apply right now, I’d apply to UC davis with the major of Communications. </p>
