Is it better to apply Early Action or wait for a letter of rec?

One of the teachers who was supposed to submit an application to the Common App emailed me today saying he is having trouble doing so, and will contact the Common App tomorrow. Problem is, I have 4 schools of which I am doing Early Action that need to be in by tomorrow. He was able to submit the letter to Madison, so that's fine. U of I doesn't require letters (thank God). Notre Dame (which is through the common app) only accepts 1 and I have another teacher writing that and its all set to go. But for UMichigan, I was having this teacher and another write me 2 letters. The other teacher already did submit, but now I'm not sure if I will be able to add this guys letter of recommendation.

What should I do? I'm freaking out. I don't think the teacher will respond tonight as I've emailed him 3 times, and even FB messaged him (I don't think that will be an issue as I know other students have done so before). Still no response. Is it better to just submit the University of Michigan application tonight without the second recomendation letter? Should I wait and apply in their regular admission? I don't even know how great of a letter this is, so I'm not sure if I want to apply late. When Michigan says its deadline is Nov. 1, does that mean I need to have it submitted tonight or can I submit tomorrow? Gahhhh, too much. Thanks

If you apply later to Michigan I think rolling admissions will help anyways.

Don’t you have to have the app in by a certain date? The rec’s may be allowed to follow. Your teacher can send the rec’s directly (both my kids did this) rather than through the common app. Give your teacher an addressed (to the admissions office) stamped envelope and they can mail it ASAP.
