Hi. I plan to Major In Computer Science. I have been thinking lately. Since I decided what I really wanted to do with my life would it be better to do an internship with a big company and get hired on? I also was thinking about joining the Air Force because it is one of the best branches in the military. What should I do?

You should do what you want. Rule of thumb is at least one internship, usually done in the summer after junior or even sophomore year. I’m not sure if you could get a good one while being out of college (I am assuming you aren’t in college yet?) or your freshman year, but plenty of people do so look around and apply everywhere.

If you do want to be in the Air Force, go for it. Don’t just go because it’s “one of the best”. It’s a big commitment. If you truly want to go and think you after up to it, go. You can get a college degree after and being in the military gives you a lot of benefits.

Why not apply to an ROTC program and major in CS.
