So, if I'm the president of 6 clubs, but three of them don't really do much and don't meet very often, but I put a lot of effort and time into the other 3, should i just put down 3 and leave the other 4 spots on the common application blank? or should i put down the names and my leadership positions in the other 3 clubs? thanks!

depends what the clubs are.............

well they're not gaming or stupid clubs, they're more like volunteering/awareness clubs...

And what about the three clubs that you have heavy involvement in?

List them all. While except for the most competitive colleges -- places like HPYS -- colleges don't consider ECs in admission, the colleges that give merit aid do consider ECs for that.

I do wonder, however, why you're bothering to be president of clubs that don't do much. Sounds like you're involved in those clubs for resume dressing, not to really be a leader. If you were serious about your presidency, the clubs would be doing more. After all, as president, your job is to set the vision and lead the way. If you don't have time to do more for those clubs, seems it would have been better to let someone else be president.

why would you leave anything blank?
you should list other stuff as well such as an instrument that you play, or outside of school research. i'm sure you have other things to say to take up the extra spaces instead of putting clubs that you dont really care about.
