Lets say you work 5 days a week, would it be better to put your classes before or after work and have 2 days off to yourself or have work and school on different days.

Meaning you schedule all of your classes 2 days out of the week and work the other 5 but then when the days you get out of work you can go straight home?

I have had it both ways and I don’t mind either. I never found it to be that big of a difference. I did find it kind of nice to have work in the morning and class in the afternoon, for some reason. When I leave work, even if I’m tired, I usually feel kind of weirdly energized, so going to class in that mood is ideal.

I wouldn’t schedule all your classes two days out of the week though, unless you don’t have many classes. That would be really stressful. You will also appreciate having a couple days out of the week where you don’t have to do anything.

The most successful person I know was very disciplined, so be aware. He would work all week and take classes. Then, he’d get all of his work done like a madman during the weekend. I believe he chose UC Berkeley over Stanford and he was an engineering major.

I’d say that it’d be better to work and go to school on the same day unless you work quite late. My girlfriend works in the mornings, goes to classes, and then gets her work done when she’s out of class. Seems to work for her.

Same days for me. I’m either in “get stuff done mode” or “lay around on the internet mode”.

Once class is over or I get off work I feel like doing more “stuff” and can’t really sit down and study or relax. Cram everything then take a few days of total leisure.

I wish I could work 10 hours per day 7 days in a row then get 7 days off like some doctors and pharmacists do… Perfect

when i worked in the kitchen i would work same days sometimes. as an ra i worked everyday haha (but different work. not a traditional job when you can do hw when you are working)
but it really depends on how is your time management skills

For me it’s easier to get work hours in in the mornings because I can start as early as 6:00 am if I wanted to. Since most classes won’t start until 7:30 or 8/8:30, then it’s easier for me to start at work early and get the extra 2 hours of worked knocked out before the typical school day even starts. So I always work mornings and have school in the afternoon/evenings on the same days (4-5 days/wk).

It seems like everyone works and go to school on the same days. The thing is I work in retail so its either I’m opening from 9:30am - 4:30pm or closing from 1pm- 8pm.

My current schedule is
M,W 9-9:50am ,10-11:50am, 2-3:15pm, 4-5:15pm, and 6-8:05pm (Classes)
All other days are work either opening or closing

Do you think I should change my schedule and do school and work on the same days?
Any Advice?

It depends a lot on your personality. Some people find it easier to go to class and then go to work while they’re still in the mood to get stuff done, which gives them days off. Other people find it exhausting to keep working all day and would prefer to spread it out.
