We have had 2 of dd's schools contact us about missing data that had been submitted to them. The first time I figured was a fluke, but now I am growing concerned. I actually went through my email on this most recent thing and found that it had already been addressed before the deadline.

Would it be ok to have dd email her contacts and ask if all of her app materials are accounted for? Do you think it is necessary?

Yes, I think it’s necessary to check portals and contact schools if they haven’t sent emails or postcards confirming your application is complete.
We’ve had several email and postal submissions unaccounted for. So do confirm with schools that they received everything.
Last year We submitted many on or the day before the deadline and I think that’s the reason why things got buried in the pile of incoming mail and lost.

I think all of our schools sent confirmation when applications were complete. There is a thread on the main board listing some schools and how they communicate finalized applications. If there is a way to check online through their portal then you shouldn’t need to contact the school. It would be okay to bounce the other schools to ask if everything was received, especially if the missing pieces are something outside of your control (i.e. recommendations or transcripts).

One of my teachers from last year always has stacks upon stacks of papers on her desk, it looks disastrous! I have her husband this year, and he says it’s messy but she always knows where things are. She says that a substitute teacher tried cleaning her desk the day grades were due so she had to call in a bunch of other teachers to look for things.
