I am planning on going towards grad school for an MBA after undergrad and I heard GPA in undergrad is very important. Is it difficult getting a good gpa (3.6 or above) at UCI?

Depends on what your major is.

In the Anteater Forums, many users write comments that getting a high GPA is a cake walk for social science and humanities majors while it's a freaking nightmare for biological majors.

Other way around for me. I dread non-science/math classes while sci/math are a joke.

and how much determination you have. High GPA is very doable if you are good at classes in your major (that's why its your major, right?). It will be hard to get a high GPA if you try to major in something you dont want to do or you're not good at (the case for many science majors).

About 17% of the class gets a 3.5+ GPA, but it really depends on your major. About 27% of Arts majors get a 3.5+ GPA. That said, GPA is not the most important factor in MBA admissions. I mean, even the top MBA programs like Harvard and Stanford have average GPAs around 3.6, which are quite low compared to the 3.8-3.9 of their other programs. Your work experience will be much more important.

my friend said it depend on major, most engineering student get lower GPA
