Is it difficult to be accepted if you dont go ED?

I'm just starting to look into GW because I would love to go to school in DC but consider Georgetown a fairly high reach. I think I have the stats to get in ED (1420 SAT, 94-95 average weighted) but I'm not interested in applying anywhere ED. Will my chances of being accepted go down signifigantly if I apply regular decision.

Also will it really hurt me if I'm not able to get an interview?

Eric, based on what your advising i think you are solid regular decision but it also depends on the applicant pool and of course your ECs and essay. I am partial to GW because my d goes there and loves it but Georgetown is also a fantastic choice and going to DC is very exciting. Why are you reluctant to apply ED ? Are you applying ED elsehwhere? Anyway, GW is a great option. I suggest a visit.

Best of luck. BTW, you have a great name…

Thanks, I have enough EC’s to keep me busy 5 or 6 days of the week, but nothing special. I just don’t want to do a binding agreement, for financial reasons and so I can have options later this year. Speaking of financial reasons, I won’t be getting much aid if I apply in January either, will I?

why wouldn’t you be able to get an interview? imo it’s really important, and a regional representative should be in your area if you can’t make it to campus.

If you get an interview, then you should be fine getting in RD. GW doesn’t like to accept people they feel are applying to them as a safety, so make sure to demonstrate interest and write a killer “why gw” essay

Thanks everyone, but do you know how the financial aid for RD applicants is?

Thanks for the help everyone…one more question, am I correct in saying I am unable to schedule an off-campus interview until I send my common app?

You just need to send the first portion of the app. before you schedule an interview. Last year, there was more information about this at the applicant’s portal. But I know that my daughter mentioned her interview in her “Why GW” essay, so clearly she did not have to submit the complete app. in order to interview.
