Is it difficult to transfer?

I am currently a freshman in college, looking to transfer either midway through or after the end of freshman year. I'm currently looking at University of Pittsburgh (main campus). I was able to get accepted into main campus when I applied as a senior in high school but stupidly turned it down since I wanted to go away for college. How hard is it to transfer and how do credits transfer? Thanks for any help you could give me!

you should get in as long as you get a decent gpa your first semester. First year transfers, they look at your high school stats more, which worked out for you.

How far are you along this semester? Can you withdraw, go home, take the semester off, and start at Pitt in January? That probably would be easier than applying to transfer and having to get copies of the transcript from this place you are dying to leave every time you apply for anything that needs your college records for the rest of your life.

Pick up the phone tomorrow morning, call Pitt, and ask what can be done.

I’m not very far along but so far, I am not a fan of this place. More importantly, I recently decided on being a Biology major and Pitt has a very strong Bio program. However, my parents would be strongly against the idea of taking a semester off. I would have to pay for this year tuition regardless of whether I finish or not so that’s out of the question. Hopefully, they accept me as a transfer after my freshman year.
