Well, my parents want me to finish all my applications by Dec 1 because it will allow me to be at advantage since they (adcoms) will review my app first. However, even though I have finished most of my apps, i'm still reviewing and getting my essay revised by teachers, since it's one of the most important parts of the application.

So question: If I apply by Dec 15th, is I am a disadvantage than if i applied a 2 weeks earlier?

The disadvantage is that you rush and don’t submit your best product. Colleges will read your app when it’s completed – often the inclusion of school reports, scores, etc. And these are out of your control. You could turn your stuff in tonight and not have your file reviewed until March – if items (which you’re not responsible for) have not arrived.

At colleges which are rolling admissions, the late applicants may be too late if the next freshman class (or freshman class in their applied-to division or major) has been filled.

Also, some colleges have a limited amount of merit scholarship money and stop giving merit scholarships after it runs out, or they may have an earlier deadline to apply for eligibility for merit scholarships.

Depends on the college. Ime, colleges that are handling ED now, will be busy up to their notification mailing date. After that, regional reps might get a jump on their first-pass looks at RD. But that’s only first-cut, one of many steps a qualified app will go through.

Just don’t push the deadlines. It gets too crazy.
