I was wondering if it is possible to take 5 courses some times during a quarter. I think the people usually take 4 but I may need to take more

Wait, when you mean “quarter” do you mean semester? Excuse my ignorance.

I usually take 5 courses per semesters. Nothing more than that. I tried 6 classes for a week and it felt like death. And with marching band on top of that, yikes! I was able to drop the course during the drop/add period before the “withdraw” period.

5 courses are doable, but yet again it depends on the courses that you take. Nothing more than 5 though. Wouldn’t recommend nothing more than 5.

Well with UCs it by quarters and they show 4 classes per quarter.

Our D is a freshman at a school that uses quarters- same schedule as the UCs. She has four right now plus a one credit athletic class. She says that 4 is the max she would try. She works her butt off as it is. She is at 20 credits this quarter.

most people usually take 5

I’m at a UC. IT reallly depends on what classes you are taking. If they are 5 math/science classes then I would advise against that. If they are balanced between technical classes and the other 2 are humanities classes, then I would say that its more doable. Keep in mind this depends on how the difficulty of the classes, your ability to time manage, and discipline to keep on top of everything. I did 21 units, 5 classes and a one unit lab. It SUCKED. I somehow managed to get through it. I don’t recommmend doing that many units unless you REALLY must take them to graduate.
