Is it easier to get into BC by transferring from Villanova?

I didn’t get into BC so I’m thinking about trying to transfer in after freshman year. Can anyone speak to how much harder/easier it is to transfer into BC in general, and to apply from Villanova or Holy Cross in particular? I know VU and HC are common safeties, so I’m wondering if its actually harder to get into BC as a transfer from those schools than it would be from another place. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

OUCH!!! Villanova and Holy Cross as common safeties???? I know some very good students who would differ with you. :/

In my opinion, BC and Nova are fairly equal, at least in the terms of quality of education. BC might edge out Nova in terms of national recognition, but both draw the same types of students.

Didn't mean to get into a discussion about the merits of each school, but that's certainly the case at my high school. Regrdless, can anyone answer the original question? Thanks.

i totally agree with you. the students at villanova are mostly kids who wanted to go to, but got rejected from, BC/NotreDame/Georgetown or any Ivy. VU and HC are smart-kid safety schools.

With that said, neither HC or VU is really easy to get into, so I think if you get decent grades at either, transferring to BC won't be too difficult. The percentage that BC accepts as transfers is lower than regular percents, but that is difficult to interpret because you don't know what kind of people are applying.

VU and HC are similar in caliber to BC, not as high, but high enough so that transferring shouldn't be too hard. Hope this helped :)

I 100% agree with you. "the students at villanova are mostly kids who wanted to go to, but got rejected from, BC/NotreDame/Georgetown or any Ivy". My daughter is one of them, but she is still waiting for another possible better offer. She has 3.92 GPA and ACT 31. Lots of awards.
