I was wondering if it's easier to get into the college or into the business school? Anyone know? The business school isn't one of the very top schools, so I thought it might be easier to get accepted.

from what i've heard...yes.

many at georgetown view the business school as the slacker school on campus, although it is ranked pretty high (#13 by Business Week), so maybe it's a great school that's easier to get into because all of the other schools at Georgetown are just THAT good and hard to get into.

thats completely wrong...each school requires different things for admission...and it is only conceived of the slacker school coz we dont have friday classes...as all our classes meet twice a week for one hour 15 mts, unlike thrice a week for 50 mts...also just coz the college and sfs are good...that doesnt mean its easier to get into the msb...its just that hard to get into the msb....i know many qualified people who were rejected...

totally off topic here...but why is it that some people like myself (and barcaholic) use ........ all the time. I have no idea why I do that.

And no Friday classes sounds fantastic. Although I've HeArD the business school is the slacker school, it doesn't add up to the fact that it is so highly ranked.

well...a big reason is coz its a lot of group work...most biz classes are based on group projects

elaborate please...lol

I am a "group" person and all, but putting my grade in the hands of my classmates nearly all the time sounds bad to me. What if you get the bad group, or have all of your experiences been good and there aren't any slacker groups. I don't mind group projects occassionally, but I'm not sure I'd want to trust my grade to a group for my entire stay at Georgetown.

well...see in the business world you work in groups and you have to deal with group members ALL the time...so this is a big reason why there are many group projects in your biz classes....i am not saying your entire grade is based on projects.... a portion of your grade is....but NEARLY every biz class has group assignments, so far apart from intro accounting, all of mine have had group classes...it does suck sometime when you have an incompetent person in your group, but you have to deal with is and think of it as a real like situation, for example in the work place
