Is it easier to transfer to USC from a community college of 4-year?

I know someone who is interested in transferring to USC and is currently attending a cal state. They are debating to finish the rest of their requirements and GE’s at a community college but is concerned about the pros and cons.

I just transferred from a CSU to a Community college and I’ll be attending a UC in the fall. No experience with USC but here’s my general advice.

If it’s USC or bust, go to CC. Zero point in staying at a school you’re unhappy with, struggling to get classes, and in general putting you behind if there’s any requirements you need to fulfill for USC alone.

However, if he’s happy at his current CSU and doesn’t mind graduating from it, he should stay. That way it’s easier to continue on if USC falls through.

I don’t think USC gives priority to CC students but I could be wrong.

I agree with @OhWhatsHerName; to clarify, I believe USC DOES NOT give any particular priority to CC Students.
