Is it easy for Colleges to revoke your acceptance because of bad senior year grades?

I'm taking AP Psych, AP Eco, AP lit. Core classes
and Advertising, Culture Foods, Band

For the AP classes, whats a minimum average I should maintain to stay safe? I've been getting mid-high 70's in Psych and Lit 1st quarter, and a low 80 in Eco. How high higher should I try to bump it up with my 2nd quarter grades?

I’m curious about this also. I’m planning on slacking off a bit…or maybe a lot. thinking low b’s, a couple of c’s? oh, and does nyu require mid-year grade reports??

I’ve been in “senior slump” since before this year started. Part of why I’m happy I got in is because my chances of getting into other schools would be reduced when they saw my senior year grades.

omg i was just coming here to post the same question. yeah im taking 5 APs too, all core classes, everything else is fine except AP physics, i have a C in the class right now, and after the midterm on friday, its probably not gonna be better.

Ds and Fs are obviously not allowed, but Cs are okay right? esp for AP core classes?.. please?

idk about mid-year reports but on my acceptance letter it says to send in grades once the courses are complete, so like by the end of the year?

I would be very happy to send them towards the end of the year because I know I’ll work harder then. I did terribly the first quarter because I was busy with SAT 1s, SAT 2’s, and multiple college apps. And now that I got into NYU, I kind of wanna celebrate a little bit by slacking off and having some fun… then get back on track 3rd semester. But I’m not sure, Ill ask guidance tomorrow

Also, I dropped french and math and Im only taking 3 core classes… all AP, is that bad too?

uh i mean i think its more bad than good. why did you drop them? do you just have 2 releases now.

anyways so does anyone actually know of people having their acceptance revoked bc of poor grades? if so what were the grades?

I mean I didn’t drop them senior year, I just didn’t take them.

oh okay, well i mean you already got in right? so it shouldnt matter.

so should i email someone to find out whats the expected gpa of our senior grades?

Yes that would be great! Yeah getting in feels great but I’ve heard stories of smart kids having their acceptance revoked because of plummeting grades… and i can’t take it off my mind because my parents are so happy I got in, and my friends think I’m awesome for it… would suck to go on probation or rejected now… My gpa is also inflated because of band, gym and 2 electives, Im more concerned about what they require out of core classes

i would really just maintain a B average. . .

what about 2 mid 80’s and one in the 70’s?

I made a post on the Facebook group and someone attending NYU commented “you’re pretty much fine unless you fail a class”

idk if id trust that though unless its someone of legitimacy.

okay so i posted the question on the official forum, theyd probably email me back in 2 days. so if anyone wants to call and ask thatd be great

basically i just asked what are the specific expectations/requirements for senior grades

and lol Colij Ejoocation i added you on fb just now i think

oh yeah and my names Robert Qiao if the rest of you want to add me lol

lol, i could probably even just poke my head into the welcome center tomorrow and ask. i walk by there almost every day.

oh that would be so nice! thanks!
although someone on FB told us that he knew someone that got 5 C’s and everything was fine…although that is pleasant to here but idk

but yeah thanks!

wow i was actually wondering about this too…my gpa right now isnt too hot. but isnt it nice worrying about these kinds of things now? heck, im worrying about which dorm to choose! i called the admissions office yesterday about financial aid and i threw in the grades too but they gave me a very very vague answer along the lines of “as long as your gpa doesnt fall too much.” ehh…how much is too much is what im wondering…

lol yeah i love how my greatest dilemma right now is picking which dorm is the best while my friends are frantically getting together their college applications
