Is it easy to be exempted from some introductory courses in NEU?

Basically I am an incoming transfer student this fall. I'd like to know if it is easy in NEU to get consent from faculty and thus to be exempted from some courses. I have already taken my Cal1 and Cal 2 in my previous college but NEU doesn't put the two courses equivalent to Cal1/2 for Science and Engineering(Math 1341&1342), which are required in my major. I don't want to take any introductory calculus anymore but go directly to Linear Algebra. Any ideas if it is possible? Thanks!

For that, you’d have to speak directly with the head advisor for the mathematics department (Jekel). He can be a nice guy, but the decision is specific to each person.

Keep in mind that Linear Algebra can be very difficult, especially if you get a bad professor.

Thanks for your advice and the prompt reply!^_^
