NMSF could name the 1st. choice college. can they change it later? how to do it? how many times can they change the college name? how long does it take for the change effective?
Thanks.

Yes it is easy to do. Download the form on the NMCorp website. I think you fax it in, unless that part has changed.

Thank you.

mom5i52, it is easy to change the first choice college, but be sure you do it before any college offers are extended. Having one offer already given limits the student’s ability to receive another offer (from a different school). Also, you might check with the schools of interest. Some schools offer scholarships to any national merit finalist who wants to go there and is accepted into their honors program, regardless of whether or not the student listed them as their first choice. Others only consider those students who do indeed list the college as their first choice.

^^^

That needs clarification.

Just because a college sends you an offer in the mail does NOT constitute an “offered scholarship”. Right now, many schools are sending out mailers with NMF offers.

So, just because you apply to School A and that school lets you know that if you make NMF then you’ll get XXXX, that doesn’t mean that that is your ONE OFFER…no, that’s not what that means.

Other than schools that offer NMSF, I am not aware of any NMF scholarships where listing the school as first choice is not required… momtimes3 do you have examples?

No one needs to worry about “accepting” ANYTHING right now. There are no “offers” out there right now because NO ONE is a NMF right now.
