Is it easy to meet fellow atheists at Berkeley?

I’ll let you know if I get in

A like-minded friend sent me this a few days ago; I thought the OP might enjoy it:

Pretty much this. None of the student population seem to give that much of a ****…or, if anything, the ones who do are atheists getting obnoxious towards theists (I say this as an atheist).

There are some guys who come on campus and start preaching, but they’re very easy to walk past.

I’m the VP of the atheist/agnostic group here at Berkeley. There are quite a lot of atheists here, but most are apathetic about it. Most students seem very focused on getting good grades and have few real interests or other concerns. I think you’ll find a similar story in most universities.

As a club, we meet each week to stay up to date on current events and arguments, and then we go out to have dinner. We bring atheist speakers to campus, and a couple times a year a creationist high school class from Orange County comes to talk to us.

We also organize lots of other things, like when we handed out pamphlets when Ray Comfort sent his cronies here for his “Origin in to Schools” project. shudder

Fun stuff!
