I’m going to be a freshman in the fall at the University of Louisville. I’d like to gauge how likely I am to get accepted to transfer FSU for the spring 2015 semester. Also, whether or not it’s easier to get in from a university than from a community college with an AA. My high school GPA was a 2.7 unweighted and 3.3 weighted. I have a ACT composite score of 30 and passed the AP Calc AB test last year. I expect to do better in college than I did in high school because I was more focused on sports and had a lot of personal problems going on. Also because 2.8 is the minimum GPA to stay in the College of Business at UofL, and I’d like to have a 3.0 at least. Will this help me since the minimum for the first semester at FSU in accounting is a 2.7? Will I get in easily? How much better do I need to do in college?
Also, apologies if this is the wrong forum to post this in. I know nothing about this website. I didn’t do much college searching senior year which is why I’m transferring.
I assume you mean you want to transfer Spring 2016?
First priority goes to AA holders from Florida colleges and universities. Transfer students with less than 60 college credits must meet freshman admissions standards. The middle range GPA for admitted freshman last year was 3.8 to 4.3.
Here’s the page for transfers if you haven’t seen it:
http://admissions.fsu.edu/transfer/admissions/requirements.cfm
They recommend applying 6 months before the semester in which you want to transfer.
