Im probably going to have a 3.4 at the time of the application (aka sometime relatively soon)...should i go ahead and apply or should i wait til spring 07. I have good HS stats, decent ECs, and strong essays

i dunno, but i can tell you average is 3.6

thanks, whered u get that stat from?

i believe i got that from their site, cant remember, i was looking into it a few weeks ago, just email their admissions office and they should be able to help you out after break

i got rejected with a 3.4, varsity athlete from tufts

huh, why do u wana leave tufts?...and i guess varsity athlete doesnt benefit them or you unless youre going to play varsity for them...would u have?

tufts blows. i was just sayin, I had a lot of EC's, 2 club sports, a varsity sport, a fraternity, and a good rec from the Tufts priest. 1370 SAT and 3.8 HS GPa and i'm from georgia.

damn...whats with BC? do they think theyre ivy or somethin? Like i dont understand when BC became good enough to accept 15% for transfers...and im *****ing all this much and id still probly go there

listen dude, stick it out at tufts, ill tell you right now that tufts has better programs in liberal arts fields...it really cant be that bad...where else did u apply?

I don't know what BC's deal is either. I know kids at Tufts that didn't get in there though, and I doubt anyone would tell you BC is a better school. I haven't applied anywhere else, I am going to send out a bunch for next fall. I did try to transfer in for the spring, maybe the fall will be easier for you. Good luck

wait....you would go to BC over Tufts, i don't get it, they are both in boston, similar schools, you said you wanted a more prestigious school

Tufts is more prestigious than BC

I said I wanted a school with better name recognition. Tufts and BC definitely are not similar, although they are in the same metropolitan area

and BC has better name recognition since when?

i agree that BC has better name recognition

alrite, so does Univ of Florida prob, who cares?

just that no one has heard of tufts...

You do not have to be 'good enough' to have a low acceptance rate.

Deal with it.

All the schools that have 15% or less acceptance rates are in my opinion superior to BC. While some schools are still top notch with high acceptance rates, it doesnt work the other way around.

Furthermore, i dont know why you come on here to be explicitly condescending...if you happen to disagree with my opinion youre more than welcome to express yourself tastefully and im sure you realize that telling me to "Deal with it" isnt one of those ways.

Good for your opinion. BC does not care, and they will not change their policies anytime soon - or if they do, it will not be because of your opinion.

FIT had a one percent acceptance rate last year. I love weak generalizations. Just do better in school. You'll get where you want to go.

i duno what FIT is but I assume it is a specialty school. Obviously there are fashion schools etc that are very selective, in which case, there is probably a reason why FIT has a lower acceptance rate than BC...it is probably much better at the particular specialty it pursues than Boston College. When I said schools with less than 15% acceptance rates are better than BC I was talking about traditional college educations that entail courses in he arts and sciences. Did you really need me to explain this or are you just trying to "prove" me wrong...either way, i stand by my statement.
