I have a 4.6 weighted in my school and A+ in all my classes now, including DE Computer Science and AP Calc AB and AP Physics B. I've always had strong math class grades, I just screwed up on the SAT. I'm applying to Arts and Sciences for Computer Science, so I don't know exactly how much that math score will hurt me. I've already gotten into BC and that was my reach until I decided on Cornell. I have strong ECs and all that but this math score has been a thorn in my side for a long time. I only took the test twice and because of other priorities I was unable to take it again.

My subject test scores are 700 in US and 720 in Lit.

I agree that your math score is a strong strike against you. Would you consider sitting for the Jan SAT and updating Cornell with your scores? No guarantee they would accept them, but seems worth a shot. You would need to grind through many sections of the Math SAT in order to get your error rate down.

The middle 50% Math score for A&S for the class that entered Fall 2011 was 670-740. This represents the enrolled population, so you would have to imagine that the stats for the accepted students might have been a little higher.

Have you taken the AP test for Calc yet (and hopefully gotten a nice high score)? My guess is that that might offset your math score to some extent, but honestly, if you’re going for Computer Science, my guess is the math score is going to count against you. But hey, you still have great options. Good luck!
