Is it even worth applying with a low math SAT?

I have strong reading and writing SAT scores, upper 700's most likely when Dec. scores come out.

But my math has been consistently weak, and I'm probably going to get a lower 600's score.

So basically I'm estimating something around: 780 CR, 770 W, and 630 M

From my research, I heard that Northwestern doesn't consider the SAT writing score (I heard that they view it like an SAT II score). Without writing to "balance" out my SAT scores, my combined CR+M score will be lower than most applicants.

Do you guys think I'll even be competitive? I'm looking at possibly applying for University of Chicago as well, which doesn't even consider the writing score at all. With a lower math SAT score, is it worth applying to these colleges?

Its not all about the SATs, but then you should stand apart in everything else.

Apply if you think you’ve got a chance.

SAT is just one of the variables in the long list of many that NU looks for! Unless you apply, you will never know.

With those projected scores, if you are not accepted it won’t be because of standardized tests. If you feel that every other part of your application is solid and you apply to several schools as selective as NU, then it’d be very unusual for you to not get into any of them. But have a couple safety schools just in case.

i was just accepted ED with a 2080 and a 660 math score, it happens. good luck!

Those are pretty good scores, so you still have a good chance. Plus, if you look at the Common Data Set, rigor, GPA and maybe a few other things are Very Important, while standardized tests are just Important
