This school seems so fun, exciting, diverse, and it provided so much opportunity for success… At the Tempe campus.

My intended major is kinesiology which is only offered at downtown Phoenix:(

I feel like if I went here, I would be out of the loop of fraternities, sporting events, and more social-friendly aspects of the school. I’m definitely don’t just want to go to school for the fun, but I want to make the best of my college experience. Help?

I live in arizona, so majority of my high school goes to asu. I would strongly advise against attending this school because of its poor level of academics. If you are not in the Barrets honors college then you should most definitely not attend. This school is known for the great parties, drugs, nightlife and sporting events. Go to a better ranked school, perhaps uofa. Just because asu offers more party options doesn’t mean you can’t have them at a different school.

I tried to be as honest as possible because I know a lot about this school and I have many friends that go there. Good luck!

I would point out that the downtown campus is only a short commute from Tempe, you could alwYs live on main campus and take only the few classes at downtown while takingnthe rest at Main

As for Taylors comment, I don’t think you know as much about asu as you think, and I’m not sure that you even read the question within the thread.

Thank you for a positive answer! I was wondering if you know if it was possible to attend the Tempe campus my first two years to get general Ed out of the way and then eventually move to the downtown Phoenix campus to take my kinesiology major requirements?

Assuming that all the major requirements can be fit into 4 consecutive semesters, yes. I don’t know enough about the major to say for sure. If there are course that require you to take, say, 5-6 classes in sequence, then it would not be possible to avoid going down at least some of the time.

There are shuttles that runs from campus to campus. And they are equipped with wi-fi so you can work on homework. (We just toured and that was one of my questions - transportation between campuses)

Contrary to TaylorD’s condescending comments, ASU has great programs; for example, the program I’m in right now is highly favored by recruiters and consistently ranked among the top 5 in the nation.

Back on topic, I would suggest getting in touch with the School of Nutrition & Health Promotion to see if you could work something out.

My girlfriend currently goes to ASU and is on the Phoenix campus as a pre physical therapy major. She says it’s pretty boring at Phoenix itself but Tempe is close enough to just drive to on a Friday or Saturday.

My brother goes to ASU and when he started last year, his major was kinesiology and he was at the Tempe campus. Did something change? Are you sure it’s only at the Phoenix campus? You should check again.
