If SAT scores are sent electronically is it still faster to put a rush on it or are the electronically sent scores received by colleges instantaneously?

If college has electronic delivery, sending rush now may speed up the process but likely only a little. CB now sends those rush orders via electronic delivery (the same as regular delivery orders) for colleges that have electronic delivery and the priority you get is simply that on any given day when there are orders, yours will be processed before regular delivery orders received at the same time. Note nothing is truly instantaneous as it can take CB up to a day or two to process your rush order and longer to process a regular delivery order. Also, electronic delivery mainly consists of CB putting the score into a secured on-line account that the college has with CB and then actual receipt depends on how often the college goes into that account to download scores.

Fastest way to have score sent electronically is to designate colleges as automatic recipients (e.g., your free sends) when applying for a test. The reason is that CB now usually sends scores electronically to those designated colleges a couple days before they are even released to you on-line and thus a couple days before you can even order them sent rushed or otherwise after score is released to you.
