I am writing an essay for a college that my counselor says I have a 99% chance of getting into. However, for one of the 2 essays required (the other being the general CommonApp), my word count is 165 when the limit is 250. Should I add a little more? I feel like I have answered the question fully, but it seems pretty short. How much do admissions officers care about word count? Thanks in advance.
If you think you cannot add any more words to your response, then you’ll be okay. As long as you answered the prompt to your best ability, colleges won’t care about the word length that much.
