is it frowned upon if i don't take Sat2 Math 2?

Well, I did take Math 2, i just didn't do very well on it. I got a 610, and I took Calculus last spring at the local junior college. But I got a C in that class and I hate math. I'm putting down sociology as my major and psychology as my 2nd major...

i'm retaking sat2s in december and i'm thinking about only taking Lit and U.S. History because in May I scored a 710 and 680 respectively. I'm hoping to raise these above 750 in December, but I don't know if i'll be seen as a "wimp" because I took Calculus already and sucked at Math 2...and I really don't want to take it again....

i took the math 1 test.

but you can't anymore....they changed it so you HAVE to take math 2 if you choose to take a math subject test

Yeah, you HAVE to take Math 2c now, since the change on the SAT I.

Yes, it will be noticeable if you don't take Math IIC as one of your SAT IIs.

well i did take it already, i just got a 610

i'm asking if it would be detrimental if i were to leave it as that and score higher on two other tests

why dont you just take it again? its like what...$10? and they take the higher score...

well, the test is in about two and a half weeks, and i have two jobs. even if i were to study as much as i could in these two in a half weeks, i could maybe improve my score to 650-680? i figured it would be better to take u.s. history and lit and get +700 but if not retaking math 2 would really hurt me i suppose i'll do that...

I didn't take IIC and got into UCLA

i would try to improve as much as possible on the math II again...just because your original score will be on the report sent to UCLA (and seeing a 610 isn't that pleasing...)

You will need to take IIC if you are in Class of 06 and past.
Try to improve as much as you can. Getting 700+ should be okay (not brilliant), and is managable. I believe you can miss 15 or so and still get 700.

Well, I didn't take IIC and got into UCLA.

But I had other scores that may have made up for it... I'd say just study hard and take it again-- see how it goes...
