Is it hard to double major with CS when its completely different?

For a good part of junior year and senior year I have been knocking my head around on whether I should major in Film/video studies and minor in cs or the reverse. After a while, the thought of majoring in both of them became more prominent but kind of scares me because I hear a lot to usually major in things that overlap which these majors do not. The college I plan on making this choice is George Mason University. Opinions?

FILM studies? What in carnation is that? You can sit around and watch movies after you graduate with your CS degree.

Yeah, it the name gives it an entirely different meaning. Basically, its the equivalent of learning how to make movies at film school without the heavy debt. Also, thanks for commenting :)

It’s not impossible, but why do it? If it delays your graduation of 4 years, it’s definitely not worth it. Keep in mind, while you take film studies courses, your CS peers will take more CS classes, technical electives, etc.

Yeah, I’ve taken into consideration of the possibility of my graduation being delayed and not being able to take more or any technical electives but I’m passionate about both things. I think I could live with those things but I’ve decided that if I can’t handle both of them I would just do a major in CS and a minor in Film Studies. Thanks for the comment.

Speak to an adviser at the school. They should be able to tell you whether it is doable.
