Is it hard to get a bid

Is it hard to get any bids when your rushing, or do most people get at least one

Are you talking about fraternity or sorority rush?

yea a frat to be specific

not hard. just go to the sign up event and youll get a lot of calls back. even the top fraternities give out bids pretty freely…I got 3 in the spring and am pledging currently

Some frats give you a bid on your first visit. I got one from Theta Chi the first time I ever went there, and Sig Ep is basically paying people to join (still a good group of guys nonetheless). Top tier frats become more a matter of who you know.

There are tiers in frats and sororities? lol

The tier system is probably the worst thing about Greek life here… you can choose to ignore it or let it consume you and then it really is just a bunch of people acting like they’re in high school all over again.

It depends on what house you want to get a bid to. I’d say 80 percent of them you just show up a few times and get to know the right people and your in.

If you keep an open mind, attend all the events you are invited to, and are sociable with the brothers, then you will most likely end up with a bid to at least one house. Some fraternities will put more of an emphasis on different things - for example, if you know any brothers from home/high school, your GPA, if you’re athletic, how you dress, etc.

how long is the whole rush process? is there enough time to get to actually meet and know a few frats before you have to choose one and pledge?
