Is it hard to get CS classes as a L&S CS student?

At Calday's EECS session, I remember I heard that EECS students have priorities to register CS courses before L&S CS students. (Son is admitted in L&S.) Is this info correct? Will it be hard to register and fulfill CS's prerequisites courses before you declare as a CS major?

I did search up and came out different answers. Anyone who is a current L&S CS student, or has known the answer of this question, please, I need your help! Thank you.

I’m a current LSCS student. The only priorities are given to senior students (for upper-division courses), but there is no discrimination between EECS/L&S students. In fact all prerequisite courses are open seating (anyone can register for them) and even though the waitlists are large, everyone who wants to get in will be able to in the end.

^So, if my son register a class and is on the waitlist, does he has to talk to the professor or just wait patiently?

So alot of priority is given to senior standing EECS/CS students.
After they get in, your son will be able to get in. Note that there are a lot of upper division classes. So Your son will be able to get into upper division without problem.

For lower-division prereqs, all you need to do is wait. If there are many people on the waitlist, they try to accommodate all by opening up new labs and discussions.

^OK. Got it now. Thanks everyone.
