<p>UIUC admits OOS on the same basis as in-state. Like most colleges, grades, course difficulty, and test scores and very important. Essays and ECs are also considered and importance of those varies among the colleges and among the applicants; for business college those are very important for all applicants, for some others they take on far more importance for borderline candidates. UIUC is a college that does consider minority status as a factor in admission.</p>

<p>Gottagonow, I think legacy status helps very little, because a vast number of legacies apply every year. The pool of competitors includes lots of legacies.</p>
