Is it hard to get into Roosevelt University CCPA program?

Hello everyone,

Before I go to Roosevelt University in Chicago, I will be attending community college first. When I go to Roosevelt I really want to do the CCPA program (Chicago College of Performing Arts). I really would love to do Musical theatre, I am very passionate about music. I was wondering if it was hard to get into this program and how the audition program is like, I would really appreciate it if someone in the program would tell me about it. Thank you so much!

When we visited there a few weeks ago they told us they had about 800 audition for 75 slots for 2014. They expect the number to go up for 2015 and mentioned they will likely go to a prescreen sometime in the near future.

Thank you so much for letting me know! i really appreciate it !

The BFA MT and acting programs at CCPA have only one gen ed course per semester required. I recommend (as with any program) carefully studying what community courses will transfer to the BFA program. D is a freshman and has a number of transfer students as friends, but they are starting as freshman students with her (ie will have to do the full 4 years at CCPA). They may end up having less gen eds to take because of their community college hours however please check all this out for yourself so there are no surprises down the road! Good luck! CCPA is a wonderful place to study!
