Is it hard to get into?

How hard is it to get into UCI? Can someone give me an example of someone's SAT scores, GPA, classes, etc who got accepted to UCI? It would be great if someone helped

Not hard at all... someone like myself got into UCI but not Davis. Supposedly UCI is slightly slightly more selective than Davis though...so really it isn't as concrete as it seems.

My stats

1880 SAT
3.9 UC GPA
6 APs (Art History, US History, English Lang, Calc AB, Euro History, English lit)

I got into UCI, UCD and UCSC

1860 SAT
3.3 GPA
4 APs (US History, Government, Calc AB, Econ)
250+ Hrs of community service

I got into 8 universities including UCI, UCSD, CAL POLY SLO....
I'm going to Irvine
Stats:
3.3 Weighted GPA
1970 SAT

It's not hard to get in... a girl in my class got accepted this weekend with a 2.9 GPA and a 1750 SAT....

you know its really really random...extrememly i know people with GPAs over 4.0 and there were rejected from ucsb and uci...its a completely wierd system..WIERD i tell you

does race really matter? What if you're asian? I heard it's harder to get in then

Affirmative action outlawed unless specifically noted otherwise in some strange bizarre university conspiracy to shove Asians away...But that's not the case...hopefully. =)

is volunteer work important?? How many hours would you need?

I got in with:

3.65 UC GPA

1890 SAT

Only 5 APs total (English Language, Chem, English Lit, Calculus AB, and Econ)

Not even 100 community service hours (more around 60)

And I'm Asian. Overall, it doesn't seem very selective.
